The Adult Outpatient Program

takes into account the patient's physical, social, educational, vocational, psychological and spiritual needs. Part of Libertas' outpatient treatment philosophy is to keep patients active and productive as family members and community citizens. In fact, an essential component of the outpatient treatment process is for the patient to assume responsibility for his or her own recovery.

The Libertas Adult Outpatient Program begins with a professional assessment with a Libertas Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC). Per that assessment, Libertas offers two approaches to treatment:

    Outpatient Treatment
    Intensive Outpatient Treatment

Outpatient Treatment offers counseling, education and group therapy for:

    The alcohol or chemically dependent individual
    Family members affected by alcoholism or
     chemical dependency.

If the chemical dependency assessment indicates a need for a more intense approach, treatment is provided through:

    Individual Counseling
    An Intensive Outpatient Program (ICP)
    Aftercare

Addiction is an identifiable and treatable disease. And the Libertas treatment center Adult Outpatient Program addresses it as such. Counseling offers those suffering from the pains of substance abuse skills to cope with the disease and make life more manageable.

The Adult Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP):

    Is based on the 12-step philosophy of Alcoholics Anonymous
    Includes individual sessions as recommended by the counselor
    Is medically supervised
    Incorporates group therapy and education
    Includes an additional week for family therapy, counseling and
     education with the patient

Adult Intensive Outpatient Program sessions are offered three days a week. Program Duration is based upon individual need. Daytime and evening sessions are available.

After Adult Intensive Outpatient Treatment, the patient participates in Aftercare, a less intense group setting program conducted once a week for up to 16 weeks.
